Good value, minor hiccups

I recently signed up for the Individual Premium Plan. The Scholarly Article Search worked well and the Citation Analysis Reports were definitely useful for my literature review. The price for the annual plan was quite reasonable compared to some alternatives, which is a big plus. My main gripe was that the Zotero Integration was a bit finicky to set up at first; it took a few tries to get everything syncing correctly. Once it was running, it was fine, but the initial setup could be smoother. Overall, I think it's a solid tool for researchers, but there's always room for small improvements.

Smart Citations feature is great

I used the Smart Citations feature for a paper last month. It helped me find some good supporting evidence really fast. The interface was pretty easy to get the hang of. Saved me a bunch of time digging through articles.

Reliable and consistent platform

I've been using Scite for about two years now, mostly for the Scite Assistant and the Scite Browser Extension. I first got it when I was working on my thesis, and it's been a staple ever since. This last purchase was just renewing my Individual Premium Plan for another year. The platform has always been consistent; I've never had any major issues with downtime or inaccurate information. The Browser Extension is particularly handy, always there when I'm browsing articles. It's pretty reliable for quickly checking how papers are cited. Compared to my first year, the features have actually improved a bit, especially the speed of the Statement Search. It just keeps getting better and it's become an essential part of my research workflow. That's why I keep coming back.

Hey, I'm a grad student. Are there any discounts for us, or is it just for full-blown institutions?

A Anthony 2 weeks ago
Yeah, they definitely have a student discount. I got it by signing up with my .edu email.

They do! And it's pretty decent, saves you a good chunk if you pay annually too. I think I got like 40% off combined with the student deal.

I'm trying to decide between Scite and Elicit. Anyone have experience with both, especially for finding contrasting evidence quickly?

D Deborah Martin 3 weeks ago
Scite's 'Smart Citations' are pretty unique for that. It actually shows if a paper supports or contradicts something, which I haven't seen as clearly on Elicit.
